Im in my second trimester and not sure if im gaining too much or too little tbh. Everyone at home keeps commenting which adds to the tension. How much weight gain is normal overall?
Haha, with my twins, I looked like a giant balloon by the end! But usually, for a single baby, doctors recommend gaining around 10 to 15 kgs. Just focus on eating well, the weight will come anyway!
I am trying to conceive and often wonder about this too. I hope we don't have to put on a lot of weight suddenly, but I guess eating healthy is what matters most.
Actually yaar, it completely depends on your starting weight. Some put on 10 kgs, some even 15-18 kgs and it's totally normal. Just don't compare yourself with others, enjoy the journey!
It's usually around 10 to 12 kgs for most moms, but don't stress about the numbers! Just eat healthy meals, stay active, and enjoy your cravings occasionally.
Honestly, I can only tell you about my own experience. I gained around 12 kgs throughout my 9 months, mostly in the last trimester. My gynac said as long as the baby's growth is fine, my weight didn't matter much.
I had high BP during my pregnancy, so my weight gain had to be monitored very strictly by my doctor. Rapid weight gain can sometimes be a sign of preeclampsia or gestational diabetes, so please ask your gynac what is ideal for you.
Don't go buying expensive protein shakes or fancy diets for this. Just stick to simple ghar ka khana like dal, chawal, roti, and green veggies. Your weight will naturally increase as the baby grows.
