Just got my positive and im barely 5 weeks. Im so confused about my diet, everyone is giving different advice at home. Pls tell me what i should actually be focusing on eating in these early days.
In early weeks I'd say eat whatever your tummy tolerates, the nausea makes it tough. Dry toast, bananas, lemon water, small frequent meals saved me. Dont force a big healthy plate if it makes u sick.
I kept easy stuff handy because cooking elaborate things wasnt happening with work and tiredness. Nuts, fruit, curd, boiled eggs, ready dal. Quick and nutritious. Dont overcomplicate it na.
Doc told me to prioritise folate (greens, dals, citrus), protein (eggs, paneer, sprouts) and iron rich foods, plus plenty of water. Avoid papaya, raw stuff and too much caffeine. Otherwise normal balanced food is enough.
Keep it simple and home cooked, rice, dal, sambar, curd, fruits and milk worked well for me. Most important is the folic acid your doctor prescribes early on, that one is non negotiable.
