We have been trying for almost a year and every month negative test breaks me. I want to go prepared before meeting fertility doctor. What basic tests were you asked to do first?
Dont lose heart beta. The doctor usually checks hormones, does a scan and tests your husband too, its very routine. Go together to a fertility specialist and let them guide. Many couples take time, it does not mean something is wrong.
We are kind of in this phase too and it helped us to just sit with a doctor and ask. They suggested some blood tests and a scan for me, and a test for my husband. Take it slow, the doctor will tell you what is actually needed for you.
With my PCOS they checked my hormones and did an ultrasound to see ovulation. Every couple is different so I wont overclaim, but do go to a good gynac or fertility doc and get a proper workup for both of you. Both partners need testing, not just the woman.
I have been on this journey and I know how heavy this question feels. Usually they start with hormone blood tests for both partners, a scan for you and a semen analysis for your husband. Please see a fertility doctor together, they will guide the right tests step by step. Sending love.
My doctor first did basic hormone tests like thyroid, prolactin, AMH and a pelvic ultrasound for me, plus a semen analysis for my husband. Sometimes they check tubes too with an HSG. It depends on your history, so a fertility specialist decides the exact list.
