Just found out im pregnant, around 5 weeks now, and im extra careful this early. Want to make sure im not doing anything wrong in food or activity. what all did u avoid in the starting weeks?
My family said to avoid papaya and very heavy work in the first months, and to rest more. I followed that plus avoided raw foods and extra caffeine. But I always cross checked the important things with my gynac.
First weeks I avoided raw or undercooked food, papaya, too much caffeine and heavy lifting. Also no self medication, even a normal tablet ask the doctor first. Start your folic acid if you havent, and rest well.
My doctor told me to avoid alcohol, smoking, raw papaya and pineapple, unpasteurised stuff and X-rays in the early weeks. She also said no medicines without asking her. And definitely take folic acid as prescribed, its important in this stage.
Those first 8 weeks the nausea was brutal for me, so I avoided strong smells and oily food too, they triggered it. Also stayed off raw foods and excess caffeine. Eat small bland meals, it really helped me get through.
In my early weeks I was so paranoid about everything I ate. I avoided papaya, raw stuff and cut down chai. Did you all also feel scared to eat anything? My doctor's list helped me relax a little.
