Third trimester chal raha hai and by evening my ankles are so puffy, shoes barely fit yaar. It looks scary honestly. Anyone went through this, what gave u some relief?
I had terrible nausea and then this swelling in my last trimester, it was so exhausting. What worked for me was wearing loose comfortable slippers and avoiding standing for too long in the kitchen. Also, drink plenty of water to flush out fluids.
Swelling is common, but sometimes sudden swelling can mean high BP. Please check with your gynac once just to be on the safer side. If they say it's normal, then you can try elevating your feet.
I remember looking at my feet and crying because they looked like balloons, it was so hard. Just know that this is temporary and you are doing amazing, mama. Keep your legs elevated on pillows whenever you lie down.
Uff, my feet look like elephant feet right now in my 38th week! I can't even see my own toes anymore haha. I just put them up on three pillows and make my husband massage them with warm mustard oil.
Meri saas used to tell me to put warm water and a little salt in a tub and soak my feet. Honestly, it used to give me so much relief after a long day of ghar ka kaam. Try it out, it really helps.
Get yourself some maternity compression socks, they are absolute lifesavers. Also, avoid sitting with your legs crossed for long hours. And don't forget to walk a bit daily to keep the blood flowing.
Honestly, this swelling disappears within a week of delivery. I used to be so stressed about my huge feet but now looking back, it seems like a small phase. Just sit back, relax, and let your family pamper you.
