What to do if you have loose motion during pregnancy?
Since morning im having loose motions, went like 3-4 times already. Im 5 months pregnant and a bit worried about staying weak n dehydrated. what did you all do in this situation? will call doc if it continues.
Please be very careful with loose motions because dehydration can cause uterine contractions. Sip on ORS continuously to keep your fluids up. If it is severe or you feel any cramping, please consult your gynecologist immediately to be safe.
For mild loose motions, you can have buttermilk with a pinch of bhuna jeera, or dry toast. But make sure to drink plenty of ORS to stay hydrated. If it doesn't stop in a day or if you feel dizzy or have severe stomach pain, please contact your doctor immediately.
Oh no, this is the worst, but don't stress too much! Just stick to simple khichdi, curd, and lots of coconut water today. Keep your gynac updated if it gets too much, but usually, a bland diet fixes it in a day. Take rest!
Keep sipping on coconut water, lemon water with salt and sugar, or electoral powder throughout the day. Avoid spicy and oily foods completely for now. If the loose motions are very frequent or accompanied by fever, don't wait, call your gynac.
First step, start sipping ORS immediately to avoid dehydration, which is very risky in pregnancy. Eat simple bananas and curd-rice. If it doesn't settle down by evening, just call your doctor and get a safe prescription instead of waiting.
I had loose motions in my second trimester and my doctor told me to stick to a simple curd-rice diet and drink lots of fluids. It cleared up in a day for me. But since everyone's body is different, please check with your doctor if it persists.
