My glucose test is scheduled tomorrow morning and I forgot to ask if I can eat normally before it. I dont want the result to get affected because of wrong food. What instructions did your clinic give?
Haan u dont have to fast for the 1 hr test na. Bas normal khana kha lo, koi mithai ya cold drink mat lo pehle. Aur paani peete raho, the drink is super sweet.
For the 1 hour test u usually dont need to fast, but please follow exactly what ur lab says coz some do ask. I just ate my normal light breakfast like roti and sabzi, nothing extra sweet. Dont load up on sugar before it, that can mess the reading.
My doctor said the 1 hour glucose challenge is non fasting so eat your normal meals, just avoid stuffing yourself with sweets or juice right before. Confirm with ur own clinic though, instructions vary a bit between labs.
Normal balanced food is fine, no need to fast for the 1 hour one. I had a regular breakfast both times. Just dont go eat a laddoo on the way to the lab lol.
I scheduled mine after a simple breakfast and it was fine. Eat normally, stay hydrated, dont skip food else u feel weak after the glucose drink. But ya double check ur lab slip for instructions.
