What to eat during pregnancy for brain development?
Im 5 months along and really want to eat right for my baby, specially for good brain growth. Already taking my supplements but want to add the right foods too. What did you all include in your diet?
Omega-3 rich stuff is the key, so walnuts, almonds and if u eat fish then fish. Plus ur folic acid and iron that doc gives. I had soaked almonds every morning both pregnancies.
My gynac said the folic acid in early pregnancy is really important for the babys brain and spine, so dont skip the prescribed supplements. Along with that walnuts, eggs, leafy greens, milk and seeds like flax are good. Whole balanced diet matters more than one super food.
Good news is a lot of brain food is yummy haha, nuts, eggs, ghee, milk, dark green sabzis. I sneak walnuts into my snacks. Just dont overdo sweets na, balance it out.
U dont need fancy expensive things. Simple peanuts, eggs, dal, seasonal greens, banana and milk cover a lot. Take the iron and folic tablets from the govt centre, they are free. Healthy eating doesnt have to be costly.
My amma made me eat soaked almonds, walnuts and lots of green leafy veg, said its good for babys brain. Doctor also agreed those are great. Eggs and dal for protein too, helped me feel strong.
