Just found out im about 6 weeks and honestly im so worried about doing everything right from now. My MIL keeps giving her own list but i want to know what actually helps. What did you all focus on in the first few weeks?
I focused on protein and veggies and went easy on sweets, which helped my sugar later. Small balanced meals are best. If you have any condition, definitely plan your diet with your gynac.
Honestly in early days I could only stomach simple stuff like khichdi and fruit, anything heavy made me queasy. I just ate whatever stayed down and added nuts when I could. Dont stress if your appetite is weird, it gets better.
My gynac stressed folic acid early on, plus iron and protein rich foods like dals, eggs, leafy greens and dairy. She also said small frequent meals help with the nausea. Fruits and lots of water rounded it off for me.
My amma made sure I had ghee, dal, curd rice and lots of vegetables, simple home food really. I also had a handful of nuts daily. But always follow what your gynac prescribes for supplements.
