Just entered my pregnancy journey and im so confused about food. Nausea is also there so i cant eat much. Want to make sure baby gets proper nutrition in these starting months, pls suggest what worked for you.
My family kept it light and home cooked, idli, curd rice, fruits, lots of water. Amma said small meals often to avoid vomiting and it really helped. Add the supplements your doctor gives. Nothing fancy needed, just simple nourishing food.
My gynac told me focus on folate rich foods like green leafy veg and lentils, protein like dal eggs paneer, fruits for vitamins, and stay hydrated. She said avoid raw or undercooked stuff and limit caffeine. Plus the folic acid tablet daily. Balanced home food does the job.
First three months keep it simple, your folic acid plus normal home food. Dal, sabzi, fruits, milk, eggs if you take them. Honestly with nausea I could barely eat much, so I just ate small portions of whatever stayed down. Dont stress about a perfect diet this early.
Be ready, in first trimester many of us can hardly eat from the nausea. I survived on toast, curd rice, lemon water and small bites often. Forget big healthy meals if you feel sick, just eat whatever you can keep down and take your folic acid.
You really dont need expensive superfoods. Dal chawal, seasonal fruits, milk, eggs, green veggies, all cheap and perfect. I spent on nothing fancy and my reports were fine. Save your money for the scans and delivery instead.
