Just found out im carrying twins at my scan and im honestly still in shock haha. Excited but also nervous because everyone keeps saying its more complicated. For the mommas who had twins, what should i be prepared for?
My doctor explained twins need closer monitoring for BP, anemia and growth of both babies. More frequent scans, sometimes earlier delivery. She also bumped up my iron and folic acid. So regular checkups matter even more here.
Rest more, eat well and dont skip a single appointment. Twin pregnancies can tire you out faster. Also keep an eye on swelling and BP, and report anything off to your gynac immediately.
It sounds overwhelming at first but so many women carry twins beautifully. Just take it slow, rest when your body asks, and lean on your doctor for guidance. You will do great, dont let the fear take over.
With twins please be extra alert to warning signs like a lot of swelling, headaches or any bleeding, and call your doctor fast if anything feels wrong. My friend had a twin pregnancy and close monitoring really kept things safe for her.
One practical thing, twin pregnancies usually mean more scans and sometimes a planned delivery, so plan the hospital budget a bit higher. We kept some extra aside for NICU just in case, though we didnt need it luckily.
Oh i was just reading about this because twins run in my family. Did you have a lot of morning sickness in the start? I heard it can be more with twins, curious how it was for you.
Twin mom here haha. Get ready for more appointments, more scans, more hunger and a bigger belly faster. Its more monitoring but totally manageable. Just follow your doctor closely because they watch twins extra carefully.
