Was fairly active before and dont want to just lie around now that im pregnant. Im in my first trimester and want to keep moving but safely without overdoing it. What workouts did you all stick to during pregnancy?
Walking, swimming, prenatal yoga and light stretching are usually the safe ones. Skip crunches, contact sports and lying flat on your back later on. Listen to your body and stop if anything feels off. Quick okay from your doctor first.
My gynac recommended walking, swimming, stationary cycling and prenatal yoga as low impact and safe. She said to avoid breath holding, overheating and any move with fall risk. Kegels were also suggested for the pelvic floor. Do get a personalised okay from yours.
Once my doctor gave a green signal, I did daily walks, prenatal yoga and some gentle stretching, and it really helped my back and mood. Avoid anything with jumping, heavy lifting or risk of falling. Always get cleared first since each pregnancy varies.
Honestly even a 20 min walk after meals counts. I didnt have time for full classes so I did short prenatal yoga videos at home and pelvic exercises. Keep it gentle and regular. Just confirm with your doctor which ones suit your stage.
