First pregnancy and im so confused with all the diet advice coming from every side. Saas says one thing, internet says another. Just want a simple idea of what kind of food is good throughout. Pls tell what worked for u all.
My mom made sure I ate lots of fresh, ghar ka khana. No bahar ka junk food at all! Dal, roti, green vegetables, milk, curd, and fruits daily. And she always gave me a handful of soaked almonds and walnuts. Simple and wholesome, that's the best.
My doctor emphasized a nutrient-dense diet. Key focus areas were folic acid (especially early on), iron, calcium, and protein. They recommended dark leafy greens, dairy products, lean meats/paneer, fortified cereals, and plenty of fruits and vegetables. Also, adequate hydration is crucial. Avoid raw/undercooked foods and unpasteurized products.
I totally understand wanting to nourish your baby with the best food! It's such a loving instinct. Focus on fresh, homemade meals. Lots of colorful fruits and veggies, good sources of protein like dal, paneer, and eggs, and plenty of water. Every bite is building your little one!
As someone with PCOS history, I was very careful with my diet during pregnancy. Generally, a balanced diet rich in whole grains, lean proteins, fruits, and vegetables is good. But it's really important to talk to your doctor or a dietician because individual needs can vary a lot, especially if you have specific conditions.
Khana toh acha khana hi hai, for sure. But also remember that hospital costs, scans, and baby items will be expensive later. So focus on home-cooked, nutritious, but not overly fancy food. Dal, sabzi, roti, rice, fruits – ye sab best hai aur pocket-friendly bhi. Avoid outside food mostly.
