My family keeps telling me about different foods to avoid. To be safe, what are some specific vegetables that pregnant women should generally stay away from?
I felt so confused about what to eat, but my doctor told me that raw papaya is a big no. Eating simple, well-cooked bottle gourd and pumpkin made me feel so light and healthy.
While most vegetables are safe if washed and cooked properly, raw papaya and eggplant are sometimes avoided. Please check with your gynac once to get a proper safe food list.
You don't need to avoid many veggies, just skip raw sprouts as they carry bacteria. And please wash everything twice, I had to wash veggies for two babies and myself!
Raw veggies and salads triggered my vomiting so badly. I'd suggest avoiding raw cabbage or broccoli and sticking to boiled or steamed veggies, they are much easier on the stomach.
No need to buy expensive exotic vegetables. Just stick to basic, well-cooked local veggies, but make sure to wash raw cabbage and leafy greens thoroughly to avoid infections and doctor visits.
