First pregnancy and im a bit clueless about diet. Everyone keeps telling me different things, eat this dont eat that. can you ladies tell me what a normal day of eating should look like? want to make sure baby gets everything.
Keep it simple, lots of dal, roti, rice, veggies, fruits, milk, curd and eggs or paneer for protein. Add iron and calcium rich foods, and stay hydrated. Take your prescribed folic acid and iron, food plus supplements both matter.
My amma made sure I had rasam, curd rice, ragi and lots of veggies, very comforting and easy to digest. We also added dates and nuts. Whatever family suggests, just balance it with what your gynac advises for your reports.
You dont need fancy stuff, seasonal fruits, eggs, dal, green veg and milk cover most of it cheaply. I planned weekly meals so nothing was wasted. The prescribed supplements from the hospital fill the gaps.
I focused on protein and whole foods and avoided too much fried stuff. A balanced plate plus the gentle walk my doctor allowed kept me feeling good. Nothing extreme, just clean and regular.
