Twins run on both sides of my family so im a bit curious how it actually works. Like does it happen at the same time as a normal baby or is it different somehow? Just trying to understand before we start planning.
Twins run in my husband's side so I keep wondering, lol. So it really is decided right at conception then? Interesting, I always thought it developed later. Cant wait for my scan to know.
My doctor explained twins are conceived at the same time as a single baby, the difference is either two eggs fertilised or one zygote split. Family history, age and fertility treatments can raise the chance. The first scan is what confirms it.
Twins happen either when two eggs release and both fertilise, or one egg splits into two, double trouble either way, haha. Mine were the two egg type, runs in my family apparently. It all happens right at conception, you just find out at the scan.
