Currently 32 weeks and my baby is still moving around a lot, head not down yet as per last scan. My mom keeps asking when will the head get fixed in position. Around which week does this usually happen for everyone?
My MIL kept saying head should fix by 9th month otherwise problem, but doctor said its different for everyone and even late is fine. I trusted the doctor. Dont take pressure from elders on the exact timing.
Mine engaged around 37 weeks and i had a normal delivery. They check it at every visit in the end. But i know friends whose baby head fixed only during labour and they were also fine, so timings really vary.
I keep wondering this too. Someone told me head fixing mostly happens after 8th month na? Im only in 6th so im assuming its too early. Anyone else baby head still moving around at this stage?
Generally from 34-38 weeks the head engages, earlier in first pregnancies. But its not a fixed rule, baby decides. Your doctor monitoring it is the right person to tell you whats normal for you.
Usually baby's head settles down into the pelvis in the last weeks, around 36 onwards for first pregnancy. For second baby it can happen even later, sometimes only when labour starts. So dont worry if its not engaged yet.
