My belly button is still normal at 6 months but I've seen it pop out in other ladies. Just curious when does it actually happen. Does it go back after delivery?
It usually happens in the third trimester. But if you feel any sharp pain or a bulge around your belly button, please show it to your doctor to rule out an umbilical hernia.
At home they used to say an outie means a baby boy, but it's just due to the expanding belly. For me it popped around the 28th week and went back to normal after delivery.
Mine popped out in the 28th week when the baby was growing rapidly. Since baby weight gains fast now, just keep a check on your sugar levels and diet as well.
For me, my belly button didn't fully pop out, it just went flat around the 8th month. Everyone's body is different, so it just depends on your tummy size.
Mine became an 'outie' around the 7th month as the uterus grew. While waiting for these fun changes, make sure you don't miss your routine thyroid blood tests as hormone levels keep shifting.
Usually around the end of the second trimester as your abs stretch. My doctor allowed light core-safe stretches which kept me comfortable, but the button still came out around 25 weeks!
As the uterus pushes forward in the late second trimester (around 25-26 weeks), the belly button naturally pops out. It's completely harmless and normal.
