Im 30 weeks and noticed a little yellowish stuff leaking which surprised me, i thought milk only comes after delivery. Is this normal at this stage? When does it actually start?
Just went through this, i had a bit of colostrum in the last month but the actual milk supply only kicked in like 2 3 days postpartum. Dont worry if you dont see much before delivery, its still coming. Everyones timing is a little different.
The first milk, colostrum, actually starts forming in the later part of pregnancy, around the third trimester for many. I noticed a little yellowish leaking in my last weeks, totally normal. The full milk comes in a few days after delivery.
My mother told me the body prepares the first feed even before baby arrives, and she was right. For me a little came in the eighth month. Dont press or squeeze it though, just let it be and ask your doctor if youre worried.
I felt so surprised when i saw tiny drops leaking around my 8th month, i didnt expect it before the baby. My doc said its the early milk getting ready. It made the whole thing feel so real to me.
