Read somewhere that the test works by catching hcg in urine but not sure when those levels get high enough to show. Im due for periods in 3 days. Trying to avoid testing too early and getting upset.
Home kits detect it reliably from the day of the missed period. Blood test is more sensitive and earlier. Dont test too soon or you will just stress over faint lines.
Blood tests can pick up hcg about 8-10 days after ovulation, urine kits usually after the missed period. My doctor said the home kit needs the hcg to build up enough first. Thats why early testing can mislead.
I tested before my period was due and it was negative, then positive two days later. So the hcg really needs to build up na. Waiting was hard but worth it.
