Just got a clear positive on the first response test today and im so happy but also confused about dates. I dont remember my exact ovulation, so how do i figure out roughly when i actually conceived? a bit lost honestly.
My doctor told me that conception roughly matches your ovulation date, which is normally around mid cycle. The test only turns positive once the hormone builds up, several days after. For an exact date, the early ultrasound is the most reliable, that is what she used for me.
Oh I was confused about this exact thing too. So the test going positive is not the same day I conceived, right? Good to know it is counted from earlier.
I kept doing the math over and over trying to figure my date, it stressed me out a bit. Did others also find it confusing? In the end my scan gave the proper dating and I relaxed.
I used a tracker app and it estimated my conception date from my last period and cycle length. It was close to what the scan later said. If you logged your dates, the app gives a decent guess till the scan confirms.
First Response can pick it up a few days before your missed period, but conception itself usually happens around ovulation, about two weeks before. So a positive now means you likely conceived around two weeks back. Your gynac can date it exactly with a scan.
