Got my positive test recently but my cycles are always irregular so im totally confused about when it actually happened. The dates in my head are not matching at all. How do they figure this out, anyone knows?

Interesting one, doctors actually count pregnancy from the first day of your last period, not the day of conception. So your weeks are usually about 2 weeks more than when conception actually happened. The dating scan gives the most accurate timeline.
If you are trying to figure out the date, just note your last period start day and tell your gynac. They calculate from there. The scan will confirm how far along you are, no need to guess yourself.
My app calculated everything from my last period date. Conception itself happens around ovulation, roughly two weeks after that first day. If you want the exact picture the early ultrasound dates it best.
