My app shows fertile window but I still dont understand exactly when conception happens. We tried on two days around ovulation. How do you know when you actually conceived?
I was confused about this too when we started trying. From what my doctor explained, its the fertile days around ovulation, not just any day. Maybe track ur cycle for a couple months first, it makes it clearer.
You conceive around ovulation, when the egg releases. For a regular cycle thats roughly day 12 to 16. The fertile window is the 5 days leading up to it. If ur cycles are irregular, an ovulation kit or a quick scan from doc helps pinpoint it.
My gynac explained ovulation usually happens about 14 days before the next period starts. The egg lives only a day or so, but sperm can survive a few days, so the fertile window is around 5-6 days ending at ovulation. If unsure, ovulation kits or a follicular scan help track it accurately.
The best window is around ur ovulation, roughly mid cycle, about 14 days before ur next period if u have a 28 day cycle. I used a tracker app and ovulation strips, that really helped me catch the fertile days. The few days before and on ovulation are the key time.
If ur cycles are regular its easier to guess ovulation. With PCOS like mine it was unpredictable, so I needed my doctor and ovulation tracking to figure out timing. Dont assume day 14 works for everyone, depends on ur own cycle length.
