Im around 9 weeks and noticed the colour changing already, looks much darker than before. Is this kind of early or normal? just curious when it usually starts for everyone.
Honestly, it is very common and usually happens by the second or third month. It’s just pregnancy hormones acting up. It's nothing to feel anxious about, okay?
Same here, mine got darker pretty early, around the 2nd month itself when my terrible morning sickness was also at its peak. Honestly, u won't even notice these changes much when u are dealing with constant nausea, but yes it is very common. Just keep applying a mild moisturizer if they feel dry or itchy.
Actually, my gynac told me that the darkening, called areola pigmentation, happens due to estrogen and progesterone spikes, mostly in the first trimester around 8-10 weeks. It helps the newborn find the nipple easily after birth. Totally normal, so pls don't worry.
For me, this happened in the second trimester, but since I had thyroid issues, I was always extra careful and asked my doctor about every single change. Make sure u are getting your regular blood tests done and discuss this with your gynac during the next visit just to be sure everything is on track.
Mine started changing around the end of the first trimester, maybe week 11 or 12. It’s completely natural, sweetie, as the body prepares for breastfeeding later on. Don't stress at all, it's just your body doing its beautiful job.
