Normally, cervical checks are done in the final weeks of the third trimester or if there are early labor signs. At my hospital, the staff was so polite and explained exactly why and when they were doing it. Definitely ask your doctor clearly about their protocol so you know what to expect.
This is something I’ve been curious about too while planning my pregnancy. It sounds a bit intimidating, but reading everyone's experiences makes it feel much more normal. Good luck to you!
I am in my 32nd week now and my doctor hasn't checked my cervix yet, so I was also wondering about this. Is it painful when they do it in the final weeks? It's so helpful reading all these responses.
I recently delivered and they only checked my cervix when I went in for my 38-week checkup, and then during labor. It can be slightly uncomfortable but it's very quick. Just try to blow out your breath and stay calm during the check.
Actually, they don't do it constantly, yaar. Mostly it’s in the last few weeks to check dilation, or if you have any early pain. Don't stress, just discuss it with your gynac during your regular checkup and they will guide you.
Usually they check it in the last month, around 37 weeks, to see if the baby is ready to come out! Don't worry at all, it's just a routine thing to track your progress. Stay positive and excited to meet your little one soon! 😊
They usually check the cervix closer to your due date, around 36 or 37 weeks, to see if it’s dilating. Looking back at my pregnancy, I remember being nervous about it, but it’s a very quick check. Just take a deep breath and relax, it's over before you know it.
