If it's your first baby, you will likely feel it around 20 to 22 weeks, but with the second one, you can feel it as early as 16 weeks. Don't compare with others because placenta position also matters. If your placenta is anterior, it takes longer to feel.
I recently delivered and remember feeling those first tiny flutters around 18 weeks. It felt exactly like goldfishes swimming in my belly! By 24 weeks, those soft bubbles turned into proper, strong kicks that my husband could also feel.
This sounds like such a beautiful and magical feeling. I am recently married and hoping to conceive soon, so reading about these experiences makes me so happy and a bit shy. Hope to feel this soon.
Most moms feel it between 18 to 22 weeks, so don't rush for expensive extra scans just because you don't feel it early. Just wait for your regular anomaly scan which is scheduled around 20 weeks anyway, it will show if everything is fine and save you money.
I am planning to conceive and I always wonder what that first kick actually feels like! Is it really like butterflies or bubbles in the stomach as they say? Can't wait to experience this beautiful feeling myself.
