When do you get morning sickness during pregnancy?
I'm newly pregnant and heard about morning sickness, but I'm not sure when to expect it. When do you typically get morning sickness during pregnancy? I want to be prepared.
It typically begins around week 6, but everyone's body is so different. After all our IVF struggles, I actually welcomed the nausea as a sign that things were progressing, though it was still hard. Please take care and eat whatever small dry snacks you can manage.
Oh, with twins, it hit me like a truck right around week 5! I was literally living in the bathroom for the first two months. Just take small sips of water and don't try to force big meals down.
Mine started around week 7 and finally stopped around week 14. I just delivered recently, and looking back, those dry ginger kharek and chewing fennel seeds really helped me survive those early mornings.
For me, it started around week 6, and honestly, the name 'morning' sickness is a big lie, it was an all-day festival! I'm in my 3rd trimester now and still get nauseous if I smell garlic. Just keep a bucket and some ginger candies handy!
It usually starts around the 6th week of pregnancy. To manage it without spending too much, just keep some simple dry biscuits or glucose biscuits on your bedside table and eat one before getting up. It really helps settle the stomach.
Mine kicked in around week 6, which made managing my diet so tricky. I had to be careful not to eat sweet biscuits for nausea because of my sugar levels. Roasted chana or simple salted nuts worked best for me without spiking my glucose.
