When do you get tested for down syndrome in pregnancy?
Im in my 11th week and my gynac mentioned some screening test but i didnt fully understand the timing. Like at what week exactly do they do it? Thoda confused if i already missed the window. Anyone done this, pls share when u got it done.
From my experience, usually your gynac will suggest these tests in the first trimester itself. It starts with the NT scan and then some blood work. It's good to follow the doctor's recommendations for all these screenings, it helps ensure everything is on track with your little one's health.
Beta, these days doctors do so many tests just to be safe. For such things, they usually check in the early months only, so you know everything. Just follow what your doctor says properly and keep your mind peaceful. Eat well, rest well, that's most important for the baby.
Oh god, I remember how stressed I was about all these tests! For Down syndrome, they typically suggest the NT scan around 11-14 weeks, along with some blood tests. Honestly, best thing is to discuss all your concerns with your doctor. They will guide you perfectly on what tests are necessary for you.
Okay so typically it starts with the combined screening in the first trimester – that's your NT scan (nuchal translucency) and a blood test. This is usually done between 11 to 14 weeks. If those results raise any red flags, your doctor will then talk about further diagnostic tests. Don't worry, your gynac will guide you.
Oh, this is such an important question! I'm planning too and honestly, I keep wondering about all these tests. My friend mentioned something about nuchal translucency scan and then some blood tests? Is it usually done in the first trimester only ya later also?
Yaar, actually they do a couple of tests. First trimester mein they have that NT scan and blood test, combined. Phir agar kuch doubt ho na, then sometimes they suggest more advanced tests. My doc said it's good to get it done, just for peace of mind.
Haan, these genetic screenings are part of modern pregnancy care, you know. They typically start checking for things like Down syndrome with a scan and blood test in the first trimester. While I prefer a lot of natural methods, for serious health concerns like this, always follow your gynac's specific advice. They know best about medical tests.
