When does a blood test for pregnancy show positive?
Home kit showed me a very faint line so my gynac told me to get a blood test done. Just wondering how early it actually picks up, like is it accurate even before missed period? Pls share if anyone got it done.
Blood tests pick it up a bit earlier than home kits, roughly a few days before your period is even due. They measure the exact hormone level too. Your doctor will tell you when to do it based on your cycle.
My gynac said the blood beta hcg test can detect a positive earlier than urine kits, around 8-11 days after ovulation. Its more sensitive and even gives a number. She used it to confirm before the scan.
In my treatment the clinic relied on the blood beta test around 12-14 days after, it was the trusted one. It can show positive earlier and more clearly than the home strips. The wait for that result is so tense, hang in there.
