Noticed a little leaking already and im only 7 months, didnt expect this so soon honestly. Is this normal or does it usually come only after delivery? Bit curious how it works.
The first milk, colostrum, can actually start forming from around the second trimester, sometimes you notice a little yellowish leak later on. The full milk really comes in a few days after delivery though. Both are totally normal, every body times it a bit differently.
I felt a few drops leaking in my last trimester and got so emotional, like wow my body is getting ready. That was the colostrum. The proper milk came a couple days after my baby was born.
I'm in my second trimester and havent noticed any leaking, was a bit worried reading this. Did others also not leak before delivery? Hope its still normal that mine hasnt started.
My doctor explained that the breasts start preparing colostrum from mid pregnancy, around 16-20 weeks, even if you cant see it. The mature milk usually 'comes in' about 2-4 days postpartum once the baby starts feeding. So leaking before birth is okay, no leaking is also okay.
