Im in my second trimester and just curious about when the body actually starts making milk. Does it happen before delivery or only after baby comes? pls share what u experienced.
I had a c-section and my milk took a couple days to come in properly after, even though colostrum was there from before. So dont panic if it's slow at first, it builds up once baby starts feeding.
Relax, every body is on its own timeline. Colostrum mostly comes in the second half, and even if you dont see anything before delivery it doesnt mean you wont have milk. Trust your body.
Your body actually starts preparing quite early, but the first milk called colostrum usually starts forming around the second trimester. For me I noticed a tiny bit leaking near the end, like 7th month. It's all normal, dont worry.
The thick yellowish first milk forms in the later half of pregnancy. Some women leak a little, some dont at all till baby comes, both are normal. Real milk supply kicks in properly after delivery once feeding starts.
