My baby is almost 4 months now and my hair is falling so much, i find it everywhere, clogging the drain and all. Its honestly stressing me out. when did it stop for you mommas? does it really grow back?
Happened both my pregnancies, around month 3 it got crazy then calmed by about 9 months. Eat well, keep up iron and protein, dont tie hair too tight. It always grew back, so don't panic.
Oh I'm in the middle of this right now, shedding handfuls. From what my doctor said it usually peaks around 3-4 months after delivery and settles by 6-12 months. It does stop, hang in there, it's the hormones balancing back.
I cried seeing my hair in the drain, it felt awful. But please know it's so normal after delivery and it's temporary. Mine slowed down by around 7-8 months. You are not losing all your hair, it grows back.
My gynac explained it's called postpartum hair fall, caused by hormone levels dropping after birth. She said it typically starts a couple months postpartum and resolves within a year. If it's still heavy beyond that, get thyroid and iron levels checked.
Don't worry beta, this phase passes. It usually settles within a year of delivery as your hormones normalise. Eat nourishing food and be patient with your hair, it comes back fuller in time.
