My nose has been blocked and stuffy for weeks now, doc said it's pregnancy rhinitis, no cold or anything. Im around 22 weeks and so done with this. Does it stay till delivery or go away before? anyone went through this?
Oh, pregnancy rhinitis is such a nuisance, I've seen so many women complain about it! It usually starts sometime in the first or second trimester and, thankfully, for most women, it resolves completely within a few days to a couple of weeks after delivery. It's related to all those hormonal changes. You can try saline sprays for relief, but avoid decongestants unless your doc says it's okay.
I had pregnancy rhinitis too, and it was so annoying, especially trying to sleep! For me, it eased up quite quickly after my C-section, within a week or two. It feels like forever when you're pregnant and struggling to breathe, but usually, once the hormones settle after birth, it goes away. Ask your gynac if you can use saline nasal sprays, they helped me a little.
Pregnancy rhinitis is one of those temporary things, typically it clears up post-delivery once the hormones normalize. Good thing it's not something you usually need expensive treatments for, mostly comfort measures. Just focus on managing it safely with your gynac's okay, and plan your other pregnancy costs like tests and delivery packages carefully.
It's tough when you're dealing with these discomforts during pregnancy. Stay positive and trust in your body's journey. Pregnancy rhinitis, like many pregnancy-related symptoms, is generally due to hormonal changes and should subside after your baby arrives. Take good care of yourself, pray, and listen to your doctor's advice for comfort. Everything will be well.
I so remember that stuffy nose feeling, it made me so frustrated sometimes! The good news is, for most of us, pregnancy rhinitis clears up pretty quickly after the baby is born. It feels like it will never end when you're going through it, but hang in there, you're almost at the finish line, and relief will come soon.
