My feet n ankles are so swollen now in the last weeks, shoes bhi nahi fit ho rahe. Just want to know after delivery kitne din me it goes back to normal? pls share if u went through this.
I have heard from my sisters that the swelling in feet and hands usually goes down within a couple of weeks after giving birth. It sounds a bit scary but they assured me it's just extra water weight. I hope your recovery is smooth and comfortable.
Look, it won't disappear overnight. It takes about 2 weeks after delivery for your kidneys to flush out all that extra fluid, so you'll be peeing a lot. Just keep your feet elevated on a pillow and avoid salty foods to speed it up.
It usually starts going away within a week or two after delivery as your body sheds the extra fluid. Just rest your feet as much as possible and keep them elevated. It gets much better soon, don't worry.
Because of my PCOS and hormonal fluctuations, my swelling took nearly 3-4 weeks postpartum to fully clear. Keep drinking plenty of water to flush out the fluids, and try not to stand for too long. If the swelling is very sudden or uneven, please consult your doctor.
Have patience and keep a positive mind, your body has done a miraculous job and will heal in its own time. The swelling usually fades away within 10 to 15 days postpartum. Take proper rest, keep your feet warm, and take care of yourself.
I'm currently planning my pregnancy and was just reading about postpartum recovery! From what moms share, the swelling goes away quite quickly once you start moving around and nursing. It's reassuring to know it's only temporary!
The nursing staff at my hospital told me that postpartum swelling is normal and usually reduces in 10-14 days. They advised me to wear comfortable footwear and check my blood pressure regularly. Definitely ask your gynac if you feel any stiffness or sudden puffiness.
