Delivered 10 din ago and my feet are still puffy, didnt expect this after baby is out. Is it normal and kitne din mein it goes? Mommies pls share when urs settled.
The nurses at my hospital told me that postpartum swelling actually increases for the first 2-3 days after delivery due to IV fluids, and then starts fading. If you feel it's too much or if it's only in one leg, definitely ask your doctor to check it before discharge.
Mine took about 2 weeks to go away completely after my delivery. Once you start breastfeeding and your body starts releasing all that extra fluid through sweat and pee, the swelling will go down naturally. Just hang in there!
Swelling is usually normal after delivery, but please monitor your blood pressure closely. I always stay very cautious because sudden swelling can sometimes be linked to high BP issues. Please do mention it to your gynac to make sure everything is completely safe.
I panicked so much when my face and ankles swelled up in my 9th month. My gynac checked my BP and said it's just normal fluid retention, and it literally vanished within 10 days of my delivery. Just keep your feet elevated and don't worry!
I am in my 38th week and my feet look like absolute elephant paws right now, so I feel your pain! From what my friends say, it usually takes about a week or two post-delivery for all the water weight and swelling to finally drop off.
It is very normal to have swelling, and it generally goes away slowly in the first few weeks after your baby is born. Keep resting your legs whenever you can and drink lots of water.
Honestly, it takes around 10 to 15 days postpartum for the swelling to clear out of your system. Your body is holding onto so much fluid right now. Just wear comfortable slip-ons and avoid standing for too long.
