Reading a lot about pregnancy these days and came across mucus plug. Im in my early weeks and now curious when exactly it forms. Is it right at the start or later? Just trying to understand my body better.
From what my doctor explained, the mucus plug forms quite early, in the first weeks as the cervix seals up to protect the baby. Most people only notice it near the end when it comes away. She told me not to worry about it early on.
It forms early but u dont really feel it form. What u notice is when it comes out closer to labour. Both times mine came out in the last couple weeks before delivery.
It does form early to protect the pregnancy. If u ever notice it come away with bleeding or much before ur due date, do call ur gynac to be safe. They will guide u on whats normal.
