My cousin mentioned Doppler scan and I realised I dont know when it is needed. I am in second trimester and my anomaly scan is done. Is Doppler for everyone or only if doctor suspects something?
In my pregnancy they did it earlier because of a complication, to monitor baby closely. So timing really depends on ur condition. Please follow whatever ur gynac schedules, dont go by general timing.
My doctor did the doppler later in pregnancy, around third trimester, to check blood flow to baby. She said its done when they want to see how baby is getting nutrition. Yours may differ based on ur case.
Usually its a later scan, third trimester types, to check the blood flow in cord and placenta. If everything is normal they do it around then only. Ask ur doctor for ur exact date.
It varies honestly. For some its routine in last weeks, for some its earlier if doctor wants to keep an eye. Best to ask ur own gynac when she plans it for u.
