We are trying since last month and i dont want to test too early and get upset over wrong result. My period is due in like 4 days. When is the right time to actually take the test for it to be correct?
Best is to wait till your period is missed, then test after a day or two. Use first morning urine, the result is clearer. Testing too early just gives faint or false negatives and stresses you out.
Wait for the missed period and then test, dont stress too much before that. Early testing just messes with your head. Morning pee gives the most accurate line.

I track my cycle on an app and it always reminds me to test on the day my period is due or a day after. Morning sample works best. If its negative but period still doesnt come, test again after 3-4 days.
