My last period date i kind of remember but im confused how to figure out the actual day i conceived. Doc gave me a due date but i still cant work backwards in my head. Can someone explain how to count this?
Your doctor will calculate your weeks based on your last period date to keep track of all your tests and scans. Since tracking the exact day of conception is tough, this standard method helps them monitor your baby's growth and test for things like sugar levels at the right time.
Conception generally happens within 24 hours of ovulation, which is usually mid-cycle. In my case, I tracked my ovulation which helped me know the rough week. But your gynac will go by your LMP and ultrasound anyway.
I had the same confusion! Actually, doctors count your pregnancy from the first day of your last period, not the day you actually conceived. Are you trying to calculate your due date, or just curious about the conception date?
Doctors usually use your last period date (LMP) to calculate everything because the exact conception date is hard to pinpoint. Try not to stress about the exact day, just focus on your health.
Don't get confused by the dates, dear. The scan you get around 8-12 weeks (dating scan) will give you the most accurate age of the baby. For now, just count from your last period's first day.
When I first saw those two lines, I felt so overwhelmed trying to figure out the exact day it happened. I learned that conception usually happens around 2 weeks after your period starts, during ovulation. It’s amazing how our bodies work.
