Doc mentioned an anomaly scan is coming up but i forgot to ask exact week. Im around 16 weeks now. When is it usually done na? Bit anxious about this one honestly.
The anomaly scan is typically done between 18 to 22 weeks of pregnancy. For me, it took about 45 minutes because the baby was sleeping and not turning over! Just have some juice before going, it makes the baby move.
I just delivered my baby recently and remember my anomaly scan was done exactly in the 19th week. It was a bit long but so amazing because the doctor showed us all the tiny details like the heart chambers. Make sure to book your appointment in advance!
From what I've been reading while planning, it's done around the 5th month (18-22 weeks) to check the baby's organs. It sounds like such a crucial scan, does it take a long time to complete?
It is done between 18-22 weeks. Because of my thyroid, my doctor was very strict about all my scans and follow-ups to monitor the baby's growth closely. Please ensure you go for this scan on time and keep sharing reports with your doctor.
My doctor explained that the anomaly scan, or level 2 scan, is strictly scheduled between 18 to 20 weeks because the fetal organs are developed enough to be detailed but still small enough to fit the frame. They check the heart, brain, kidneys, and spine thoroughly during this.
It is usually done between the 18th and 20th week of pregnancy. I am currently 19 weeks and just got mine scheduled for next Tuesday! I'm so excited but also a bit nervous, how did your scans go, girls?
