Im in my second trimester and trying to be more mindful about my diet now. I keep reading that certain foods help baby's brain so i wanted to understand when exactly the brain develops the most. Anyone has an idea about the timing?
From what I read the brain develops the whole nine months but most rapidly in the third trimester. I focused on good food like walnuts and my supplements. Doc kept stressing on the folic acid in the start.
It happens throughout actually, but the foundation is laid very early in first weeks. Thats why folic acid before and during early pregnancy matters so much. Keep eating well and taking your supplements.
I keep reading about this too because I want to do everything right. So it begins in early weeks but the brain grows a lot near the end? Anyone know if eating fish or walnuts really helps, or is that just talk?
My doc told me the brain starts forming really early, around week 5-6 the neural tube develops, thats why folic acid early on is so important. But the growth keeps happening all the way through, with a big spurt in the last trimester.
