My next scan is coming up and im so so eager to hear the heartbeat for the first time. Im around 7 weeks now. Is it usually picked up by this scan or do i have to wait longer? cant stop thinking about it.
At my first scan around 6 weeks they couldnt find it and I panicked so much. Did anyone else have this? They asked me to come back in 10 days and then it was there, strong and clear.
My gynac explained that the heartbeat usually shows on a transvaginal scan around 6 to 7 weeks. On a regular tummy scan it may take a bit longer. With a doppler at the clinic she could hear it clearly by around 10 to 12 weeks.
I heard my baby's heartbeat around 7 weeks on the ultrasound and I felt like crying, it was the most beautiful sound. Before that the doctor said it might be too early to see. That moment honestly made it all feel so real.
I freaked out when they didnt hear it early, but turned out my dates were just slightly off. A week later everything was perfect. Try not to stress if its a little early, it often just needs more time.
