My gynac mentioned a pelvic exam might be needed but didnt say exactly when. honestly im a little nervous about it. at what stage does this usually happen for everyone?
I felt nervous about it but it was quick and fine. Mine was at the start and then again close to delivery to see how ready my body was. The nurse was very gentle, nothing to fear.
From my experience it depends on the doctor and ur situation. Early once, and then towards the end to check dilation. If u have specific concerns ur gynac may do it more, best to just ask her directly why and when.
Dont stress beta, its not done often. Generally at the beginning and then in the last weeks to see if labour is near. Ask ur doctor to explain before doing it, they will.
Usually one at the first visit to confirm things, then they mostly rely on scans through the pregnancy. Near the end, around due date, they do it to check if cervix is opening. Not done every visit, dont worry.
