When is the first ultrasound done during pregnancy?
Test came positive last week and im so eager to see something on screen. When do they usually do the first scan, and will the heartbeat be visible by then? cant wait honestly.
My doctor did the first ultrasound around 7 weeks to confirm the pregnancy, location and heartbeat. She said sometimes its slightly later depending on dates. The dating scan also sets your due date.
Usually the first scan is around 6 to 8 weeks, the dating scan to confirm and check the heartbeat. Both my pregnancies it was around 7 weeks. Your gynac will tell you the exact timing for you.
My first scan was at 8 weeks and I was so nervous and excited to see anything. Did others also feel relief seeing the heartbeat? It calmed me down so much.
