With PCOS my ovulation was unpredictable, so the standard day 14 didnt apply to me. My doctor helped me track it properly with scans. If your cycles are irregular, dont just go by the textbook day, get guidance.
Ovulation is usually around the middle of your cycle, roughly day 14 in a 28 day cycle, but it varies. I used an app and ovulation strips to pin it down. The fertile window is a few days around that, so track for a couple of months.
I was learning all this when we started trying. The middle of the cycle is the general idea but everyone differs, especially with irregular periods. Tracking really helped me understand my own pattern.
