I'm learning about all the stages of pregnancy. I'm curious to know when the placenta typically starts to develop and form during pregnancy. At what point does it become fully functional?
My mother told me it forms very early, but my gynac explained that it fully takes over the baby's nourishment around week 12. Till then, the yolk sac does the job. Just eat healthy and trust what your doctor tells you in your scans.
It gets fully functional around the 12th week of pregnancy. I had to be very careful because placenta hormones can cause insulin resistance later on. Make sure you keep an eye on your diet from the beginning itself.
Yeh lagbhag teen mahine ke aas paas poora ban jata hai, tabhi se bache ko poora khana milta hai. Doctor dii aapko check-up me sab bata dengi. Khub achha khana khao aur khush raho beta.
Because of my PCOS, I was always anxious about every milestone. The doctor told me the placenta starts forming early on but fully takes over the baby's support around 12-14 weeks. Just take your progesterone or prescribed supplements on time.
This is so interesting to read about, I am still learning all these details. I always thought it was there from day one. I hope I get to experience all these amazing phases of pregnancy very soon.
It's fully ready by week 12, and trust me, after that, it starts making you feel hungry at 2 AM! Currently in my 3rd trimester and my placenta is doing its job so well that I am constantly eating. Hang in there, the early weeks go fast.
It starts developing right after implantation, around week 3 or 4, but it is fully formed and active by the end of your first trimester, around 12 weeks. Don't worry too much about the technicalities, your regular scans will show if everything is growing fine.
