When should i do first ultrasound during pregnancy?
Just got my positive test today, im so happy but also clueless na. Dont know when exactly to go for the first scan, is it right now ya should i wait few more weeks? first time mom here.
At my hospital, they scheduled my dating scan exactly at 7 weeks. It's always best to call your hospital's reception or check with your doctor because they know your health history best.
With my PCOS history, my periods were irregular so my doctor suggested scanning around 7 weeks to get an accurate due date. Don't panic if they ask you to wait a bit, it's just to get a clear picture.
Normally, the first scan is done around 7th or 8th week. Doing it too early like 5 weeks will only cause unnecessary tension because sometimes heartbeat isn't visible then. Just wait a bit and go after 7 weeks.
I went in around 7 weeks expecting to see one tiny dot, and surprise, we saw two heartbeats instead! 6 to 8 weeks is the standard time. Get ready for a wild ride if it runs in your family, haha!
Hey! Around 7-8 weeks is the sweet spot because that's when you can clearly hear the sweet little heartbeat. Just relax, enjoy this phase and don't stress too much about dates!
Generally, the viability scan is done between 6-8 weeks, followed by the NT scan at 11-13 weeks. But honestly, let your gynac decide the timing based on your LMP. They know what's safe and necessary.
