When should i stop sleeping on my stomach during pregnancy?
I am used to sleeping on my tummy since childhood and now I am 13 weeks. It still feels comfortable but mentally I get worried at night. When did you ladies change sleeping position?
I'm a stomach sleeper too and I felt so worried about this. Early on it's fine, but once my bump grew around 4 months it just got uncomfortable naturally and I switched to my side. Your body kind of tells you.
First trimester it's totally fine, no harm. As the bump grows, usually by second trimester, it becomes uncomfortable and you'll naturally move to your side. Left side is best later on. A pregnancy pillow helps a lot.
Don't worry about it in the early weeks, it's fine. Once it starts feeling uncomfortable, that's your cue to switch to side sleeping. Your body won't let you lie in a way that's not good for the baby.
Honestly by the time the bump shows up sleeping on your stomach feels like balancing on a beach ball, you'll stop on your own haha. I lived on my side with three pillows by the end.
My app said stomach sleeping is okay in early pregnancy and you naturally shift once the belly grows, roughly mid second trimester. Side sleeping, preferably left, is recommended later. A wedge pillow made it way easier for me.
