I am 19 weeks and turning in bed has started feeling uncomfortable. Normal pillows keep slipping and my hips hurt in the morning. When did you start using a pregnancy pillow?
Whenever your normal sleeping starts feeling uncomfortable, usually that's mid second trimester when the belly grows. I started around month 5 and it helped me sleep on my side. No fixed rule, get it when your back and hips start complaining.
Get it when sleep starts getting disturbed, for most that's around the 20 week mark. Side sleeping with support takes the pressure off your back which matters more as you grow. I bought mine before the bump got big so I was ready.
I'm in my 8th month and that pillow is basically my best friend now, dont know how I slept before it. I'd say once your bump makes side sleeping awkward, just get one. Wish I'd bought it sooner honestly.
If money is tight you can honestly start with two normal pillows between your knees and behind the back, thats what I did first. I bought the actual pregnancy pillow only in the third trimester when I really needed it. So no rush early on.
There's no exact week, it's whenever you start struggling to get comfy on your side, usually second trimester onwards. My app reminded me to start side sleeping by then anyway. A C or U shaped one supports belly and back together.
