my period is 2 days late and im feeling all kinds of symptoms. part of me wants to test right now but scared of wrong result. whats the right time to do it for an accurate answer?
Do it after your period is missed for the clearest answer, that's when hcg is high enough. I tested with first morning urine both times. If it's negative but period still doesn't come, retest in a couple of days.
Best time is from the day of the missed period as per most kits. My tracker reminded me to use first morning urine since it's most concentrated. Earlier than that you risk a false negative.
With irregular cycles like mine it's tricky to know when a period is 'missed', so I'd test about 3 weeks after a possible conception, or just ask the gynac for a blood test. Morning urine for the home one. Dont rely on a single early test if your cycles vary.
We were trying so I was tempted to test daily, but waiting till the missed period gave the real answer without heartbreak. Morning urine worked best for me. Patience is hard but worth it.
